The book edited by Prof. B. Arunachalam (Retd) is a compilation of selected papers presented during the annual seminars and monsoon lectures of the Society during the period 1993-2000. It has a total of 28 essays under five broad themes – Traditional Shipbuilding, Ancient and Medieval Ports, Traditions of Indian Navigation, Nautical Cartography and Coastal Ecology.
